A fanart of the Series Criminal Minds. I tried to paint in "noir comic" style, no idea if it turned out well, never tried it before.
I obviously took reference pictures from the series, but this is NOT photomanipulation, but all painted in photoshop.

I've participated in the ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) hp_art_project as a pinch hitter (fanart project to be send to JKR as a gift) and am currently organizing a Asoiaf calendar project with possibility to send it to GRRM as a gift (the Song of Ice and Fire Author). Here some loosely related news about this:
Through the hp_art_project and also the community hp_fringeart I heard that a really great fanartist had send an illustration for the first HP book to JKR. Apparently her agents send it back to him, with no indications that she saw and apparently with the feeble excuses that "very busy" and "no room" (Oh sure, JKR has NO ROOM in her HUGE HOUSE).
Now if the information is true, the artist in question send THIS all pretty in harcover. IMO it's AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL WORK, shows A LOT of dedication and time and also money.
If this is true, then I must say that her agents SUCK, that JKR SUCKS and that this is not how you treat your fans.
Really, it's irrelevant how much fanmail you receive, you have your secretaries and agents there FOR SOMETHING and it doesn't cost much to send a friendly note saying "thanks a lot, that's cute" and then throw it in a bin if you don't like it or whatever.
I think that on the contrary grrm does not seem to be that sort of author. He has is own From my Readers section in his official webpage, he communicates with his fans through LJ which shows to be closer and more friendly and that he seems to appreciate fans and their works.
I personally am still up for the HP Art project but I did this for myself and for the organizers. As far as I'm concerned, JKR and her agents can very well clean her *** with it, I don't care. This always under the premise that the information given is true. If it's not, then this entry makes no sense :P
And of course, if the Asoiaf calendar project actually gets to a sucessfull ending, I'll be happy to send it to GRRM, and hopefully he enjoys it and feels MOTIVATED to write on ADWD :D
Also for my friends who are not on westerosorting, you MUST look at the two entries submitted already: Dany by mathia and Lyanna Stark by curtana. My entry was the Targaryen window I showed you a while back :P

Asoiaf Art, icons and things
Syrio trains
Done for chacusha on asoiaf_exchange
This is an attempt to make a young Syrio on his usual training in his time on Braavos. He is maybe already first sword of the sealord but he continues to train on unusual places such as ship borders. These cats could be friends of the fat tomcat of the sealord (the fat tomcat himself is probably too lazy to go up there :P) or maybe Syrio has them there for some casual catcatching. :PP Titan of Braavos and Braavos in the background.
Also on valyrian_forged the August theme is outside of Westeros, so here some icons and a Free Cities colourbar

I'm not really sure if I like it, but it's definitely different of what I do usually.
And shitloads of dodgy icons! XD A few from my own art and others because with all that Michael Jackson news coverage, I couldn't help but feel that Michael Jackson is SUCH a Targaryen! Also four really random cast icons and since we are in holiday time, promotional holiday destination icons for westeros! :D
I really try to improve in icon making, but somehow my icons never look pretty. I am clearly graphically challenged. :PP

Something I started a while back. Fragments of the final fate of some characters in Asoiaf. Because there was this contest about possible endings at jesteros and THEY WERE ALL TOO DEPRESSING! So I had to provide an alternative. :PPP
So far I have covered the PoVs of: Jaime (1), Dany, Sam, Drogon, Loras, Tommen. MUCH MORE are to come! All takes place at some point during or after the successful final battle.
